MELBOURNE, 19 March, 2023: The Monash Gallery of Art (MGA) has been rebranded as the Museum of Australian Photography (MAPh). The family day launch held today saw many families from local communities present on the occasion. The launch kicked off with the Aboriginal smoke ceremony.  A weekend relaxed atmosphere laced with live music was the highlight of the day.

A glance at the photos in the 100 Faces exhibition brought out the wonders a well-taken photo can do. That human faces are so many with different gestures and expressions was reflected in the photos around the gallery.

MAPh is Australia’s leading public art museum devoted to the collection and exhibition of photography.

It is a cultural institution of regional, state and national importance with the only collection focused solely on Australian photographs. It has a collection of over 3,720 Australian photographs.
