Protest held in Islamabad by Baloch activists

ISLAMABAD, July 31, 2024: On Wednesday, civil society members and students took part in a protest organised by the Baloch students in Islamabad.
The demonstrators called on the state authorities to uphold human values and principles, urging action against the ongoing crisis in Balochistan and the complete curfew in Gwadar. They carried placards and banners, highlighting issues such as atrocities and forced disappearances in Balochistan.

“We have gathered here to protest against the violent state policies in Balochistan. We believe that the situation will improve once people are fully granted their rights,” said Habib Karim, a student.

Human rights activist and journalist Asad Ali Toor, who also participated in the protest, criticised the government’s efforts to block the protests and impose internet shutdowns in Gwadar, stating that these measures would only heighten public concern.
