MELBOURNE, 19 June, 2024: Marathi speaking people in the Indian Diaspora now have a TV talk-show ‘TalKaleidoscope’ founded by first-generation migrants Sameer Borkar and Akshaya Borkar. The show being broadcast every Friday on Channels 31 & 44 at 6 pm, the producers claim, showcases the success stories of the Indian Diaspora. It also provides dialogue and cultural exchange, they say.
“Embracing a non-English content on Australian TV channels 31 & 44 reflects our commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and cultural richness. By amplifying diverse voices, we aim to foster a more interconnected and understanding society,” said Shane Dunlop, General Manager of Channel 31 Melbourne.
“The proudest moment for us is that our Marathi language show (with English subtitles of course) Talkaleidoscope, has been accepted on Australian TV channel 31 which demonstrates an acceptance of non-English content on mainstream media. This support by Victorian Government has given us great confidence to make more content that showcases the cultural diversity of Australia”, says Sameer Borkar, Founder of Borkars Media, that runs the program.
‘TalKaleidoscope’ originally premiered on Borkars Media’s YouTube channel in 2023, where 20+ episodes were released. The show now features a curated selection of 13 episodes on TV channels 31 & 44, offering viewers across Australia to access unique and enriching content.
