MELBOURNE, 6 December 2024: India’s famous and world-renowned Veena player Kalaimamani Rajhesh Vaidhya, who has been with 75 serials and many movies today interacted with the community and answered questions candidly, at the Australian Indian Community Centre. He is expected to perform on 7 December, 2024 at the Beaconsfield Auditorium. The event aims to support the establishment of a dedicated facility for post-cremation rituals in Melbourne.
The veena, also spelled vina, is an ancient musical instrument evolved into many variations, such as lutes, zithers and arched harps.The many regional designs have different names such as the Rudra veena, the Saraswati veena, the Vichitra veena and others, says the Wikipedia.
Along with Rajhesh were Sai Hari and Bharat Damodaran, who support him in his musical prowess. Answering to a question, Rajhesh said, if you want to take music as a profession then “surrender yourself to the music and then the music will take you.” “My Veena is with me always,” he said.
He said, practice is essential, “I know my Veena and she talks to me and I talk to her”, he said.
He also talked about his music journey from Delhi to Chennai and the role of his parents in it.
