MELBOURNE, 16 April 2021: A petition here demanding air pollutant standards and regulation to control extremely fine particles in the air globally has been submitted to the World Health Organisation (WHO). Manoj Kumar, Director Clean Technologies Pty Ltd Australia, and founder of GlobalCEH is the brain behind the petition. Air pollution is a global issue, the petition attracted common people and environmental activists in Australia and globally.

Talking to SAT, Manoj Kumar says, ” Finer, and, deadlier particles of less than one micrometer in size (PM1), have received less attention. While there are regulations and standards to monitor and control PM10 and PM25, these are lacking for PM1.”

” PM1 particles are so fine that they enter the bloodstream from lung and circulate like oxygen molecules in the human body leading to many fatal consequences,” Manoj says.

An international webinar was recently held to raise the issue to highlight the petition – the first of its kind in the world.
